Cuban link dog chain

Cuban link dog chain is a chain used as an industrial lifting device. It is used to lift heavy loads by lifting the chains on one end of the dog and connecting the links to the load.

History

In the early 1960s in Spain and Cuba, a worker, Humberto Pérez-Quiñones, invented a way to weld the links of a chain together. He called this process of link welding, lincóngido (link ing). He made the invention using the welding equipment that had been left behind by the Germans after the occupation of Spain.

At first the technology was kept secret and the technology was used in some industries but soon the whole industry began using the new technology.

After World War II, the Germans used an iron-steel alloy for welding that was extremely strong. The lincóngido technology allowed the welding of the chains by welding together the links by using an alloy similar to that which the Germans had used. The alloy was made from 60% tin and 20% lead.

Lincóngido is used to weld the links of dog chains, cable chain, chain link, heavy lift chains and other industrial lift chains.

Lifting equipment

In general, a dog chain lifting equipment is composed of a hoist, which is used to raise the load, and a crane, used to raise the load to an elevated position.

Hoist

The hoist that moves the dog chain has to be very powerful because the load that is placed onto the load must be moved and handled by the hoist. The hoist is made in a variety of types. For the purpose of lifting loads there are single and double booms, depending on the height of the required lifting point.

For smaller and lighter loads there is a single boom, while there is a double boom for heavier loads.

The hoists can be electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, gas or mechanical.

Crane

There are two types of cranes used to lift and handle a load. These are, cable hoists, also called rope hoists or wire rope hoists, and chain hoists. The choice between these two depends on the size of the crane, the load and the way that the load is to be moved.

Cable hoists

Cable hoists are used for lifting small loads. They use a wire rope, made from wire. They have to be very powerful to lift the load and can handle heavier loads. They are very flexible because the load is suspended with wire rope and the wire rope does not need to be attached to the load. When the load is moved the wire rope needs to be fed into the pulleys and the cable hoist needs to be pulled to move the load.

A cable hoist can be electrically, hydraulically, pneumatically or manually powered. Cable hoists are most commonly used for small lifting operations but they are also used for handling, such as moving large equipment.

Cable hoists are used when the load is placed on a single boom that is attached to the hoist.

Chain hoists

Chain hoists are used for lifting heavy loads. They are made from steel and are strong enough to lift loads. A chain is used to lift the load and the chain is held together by a device called a clench. Chain hoists are used for lifting loads from low elevation to higher elevation or for lifting the load.

There are many types of chain hoists and they are used for handling different loads and different sizes. They can be used in factories, mines, warehouses, construction, shipyards, and many other industries. They can be hydraulic, mechanical, electrically, pneumatic or gas. Some have a winch that is used for pulling the load from a lower elevation and raising it to a higher elevation. Some have an electric motor that is used for pulling the load. There are some types of chains and there are some types of cranes that are able to lift loads.

Chain hoists are attached to a single boom that is used to move the load. Chain hoists are not flexible because they have to be handled and moved by a chain.

There are many types of chain hoists and they are used for handling different types of loads.

Power source

For lifting heavy loads there are three types of power source, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic.

Mechanical

Mechanical power sources are used to power lifting equipment. They can be electric, hydraulic, pneumatic or gas. Mechanical power sources are used for powering cranes, hoists, pulley systems, load pulling systems, winches and the other lifting equipment. They are powered by power units, power sources, motor, gas, water, air and electricity. Some of the most common mechanical power sources are electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic power.

The power sources can be powered by electricity, water, air and gas. Electricity is generated by gas, water, or a diesel generator or other sources. Hydraulic power sources are powered by hydraulic or compressed air or a combination of both.

Pneumatic power sources are powered by air. Compressed air is produced by air compressors or by electricity. A small amount of electricity is used to produce compressed air. Air sources can be produced by natural gas.

Hydraulic power sources are powered by a combination of water and compressed air. Compressed air is mixed with water to create a hydraulic solution that is pumped through hoses, pipes and pumps to power the power source. Compressed air is produced by natural gas, electricity, water and by diesel generators.

Hydraulic power sources can be powered by water, air, and electricity. Water power can be used for powering hoists, cable hoists and hydraulic lift devices. Air power can be used for powering pneumatic lifts.

Air power can be used for powering electric hoists, pneumatic cranes, air hoists, compressed air cranes, compressed air hoists and gas powered hoists. Gas power can be used for powering electric cranes and compressed air cranes. Electric
